Sørvest

It’s been a long time coming, but finally we’re here.

Since the birth of my interest in tailored menswear there’s always been this sense lingering that I wanted to do more than just consume and explore as a patron. My passion extends into every aspect of this realm, and as my own preferences time and time again has ventured me further and further to find exactly what I want, sometimes ending up doing the alterations I felt needed myself, it occurred to me. Instead of always wishing for something that doesn’t exist, why not make the garments I want?

And thus Sørvest is born.

Sørvest is a brand established in 2025 in Kyoto.

The name (literal meaning South-west) refers to three cities and their geographic position in their respective countries.

Stavanger, Norway. My birthplace and hometown for many years.

Kyoto, Japan. The city I love, where I found love and where I live, for which’s heritage keeps inspiring my aesthetic senses.

Napoli, Italy. The birthplace of Neapolitan tailoring, which inspired my passion for tailored menswear.

Our aim as a brand is to be creators, curators and collaborators, ensuring that we provide garments and products without compromising on quality, aesthetic or the style principles that inspired the birth of this brand in the first place. All within the frame of a tailored wardrobe.

Creators

The main goal as creators, what inspired the brand in the first place, is to make garments that are already well known silhouettes, but where we feel that some upgrades, especially practical ones are needed.

Additionally, to make garments along the stylistic lines of what Sando, the man behind outBespoken, has presented throughout the years. For this we have befriended tailors and producers locally in Kansai to ensure that the quality and aesthetic details of the garments meets our standard, as well as making good on our initial mission to find and promote Japanese tailoring and craftsmanship tradition.

Curators

To the extent that we are sourcing outside Japan, we still want to ensure that we provide only the best, which for the time being means curating garments and products from brands and producers we respect and hold at the highest regard. Our main aim is not to compete, but to provide and so whether the production label says Sørvest or not, quality will always be what we put first.

Collaborators

Throughout the years we have built relationships with brands that we respect for their unmatched quality and passion, relationships that we want to bring with us and extend. These are brands and producers that we will continue to collaborate with, merging our visions to create interesting garments.

What to expect from Sørvest?

Some releases are right around the corner, others are soon to come to fruition. We are currently working with our friends on exciting samples, prototypes and projects for 2026.
